Roasted Red Pepper Sauce

This is a recipe I found on Ree Drummond's blog, Pioneer Woman. I originally combined it with a roux and paired it with pasta. Obviously that's out, but I LOVE this sauce so I re-purposed it by omitting the cream and pairing it with some roasted cauliflower. I thought I would pass it along, feel free to get creative with it!

-3 whole red peppers (roasted, peeled, seeded)

-1 yellow onion

-1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted

-2 cloves garlic, minced

-4 large basil leaves, roughly chopped

-Red pepper flakes (amount dependent upon desired spice)

Gently saute garlic and onion and puree all ingredients into a food processor or blender

Season with salt/pepper to taste
