Sauteed onions and garlic

I was in the middle of sauteeing some onions and garlic last night for some chili until I realized that I didn't have anymore chicken broth. I stopped sauteeing and just stuck the pot in the refrigerator, thinking I'll continue cooking it today when I get some more broth. I'm wondering if it's best for flavor to start over or just continue with the onions and garlic from last night. What do you think?
