Under a week to go everyone!!! (For the elimination phase anyway ) The last few days have been weirdly up and down for me - some days I feel ahhh-mazing! and others I've been feeling kind of down and lethargic.. might really just be because it's close to that TOM for me, though! On the whole, I've really been so surprised by how different I feel already going through these last few weeks, and I'm nervous that I'll derail once my 30 days are up. I was really going down an awful path of bad habits before this, and I don't want to fall off the wagon of healthy living once I start reintroducing. At the same time, I'm just not used to this much meat in my life (and all this cooking!), and I want to give myself more space to have a slightly more plant-based/grain inclusive diet. I'll probably be doing the fast-track reintroduction, but using the secondary dates the book describes, so that I'm not hit by awful feelings within just 10 days. Have a great last 6 days all!

Woohooo halfway done!!! I'm definitely seeing a lot of general health improvements so far (faster recovery time, sleeping so much better, skin is feeling clear, and more!) And saying no to non-compliant foods is actually so much easier!! I went to donate blood today and they had so many snacks I used to just eat mindlessly like cookies, gummy fruit snacks, and pretzels, but I didn't even a little bit feel like indulging. Definitely keeping my food choices interesting by making new recipes every week, here are a few of my favorites so far: http://www.foodfaithfitness.com/sticky-slow-cooker-chicken-wings-with-pineapple-5-spice-sauce/ http://acalculatedwhisk.com/crispy-chicken-with-fig-and-shallot-compote/ (Figs are not in season here in CT, but I went ahead and topped this with softened shallots and a sweet onion and it was still soo good!) And I also loved the steak recipe seared on the stove and finished in the oven from the book! Have a great 3rd week everyone! And to everyone else who will also be hit with tomorrow's mountain of snow, stay warm!

Day 10 and I am SO with everyone who has recently (like as of yesterday and today) started to struggle with the foods we can't eat and the feeling of being hungry but not finding compliant foods appetizing. Last night I would have killed for a cheeseburger or even a french fry! Thankfully, I just ate my pork and green beans and went to bed early instead of caving in to my cravings. I feel like being a third of the way in and knowing how much work it was to get to this point, it just would NOT be worth it to give up now! So, despite the struggles, I'm really still motivated to stay the course. Reading everyone's posts has been so helpful too, keep up the amazing job everyone!

Good morning everyone! Day 4 and this is by far my best-feeling day so far! Days 2 and 3 were up and down with headaches and serious fatigue, but I woke up this morning and felt great! I was looking at the timeline and today/tomorrow are supposedly the "kill all the things" phase (lol), but no moody outbursts yet (which my husband appreciates, I'm sure!) Early class today, so I just had some coffee and coconut milk and a banana and almond butter for breakfast. A more substantial lunch is on the way with some lemon chicken, mashed potato, and green beans. Happy fact - we're over 10% done at this point! Have a great day 4 all!

Wow, looks like there's a bunch of us going it together these next 30 days, that's so great! I'm in CT, and what I mostly want to get out of this is really just general health improvement. Weight loss would be great, and so would a boost in energy, but I'm more so trying to just head off any potential for developing the number of medical conditions that run in my family (diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, etc.) I've really done a poor job of managing my food choices and activity levels the past few years, and that totally has to stop! So far today has been pretty great! Scrambled eggs and grapes this morning with black coffee, tons of water throughout the morning, and garlic chicken that I made last night for lunch. I'll be shredding the chicken over a salad for dinner along with some plantain chips! Also - does anyone else get morning shine texts? This morning's text was SO RELEVANT to starting Whole30 and just got me going on the right foot! If you don't get them, here's a link to today's just to get an extra boost of encouragement! http://daily.shinetext.com/2017-02-27

Hi all! I'm also starting tomorrow for the first time and also oddly excited for the journey! I've never attempted any kind of intense cleanse like this, so I'll need all the help and support I can get, especially since I'll be the only one in my household participating. But, I'm prepped and as ready as I can be, I think. Good luck everyone!
