Starting 2/26/18 - First timer - Can you say determined?

Hi everyone, I started my reintroduction with plain baguette bread and apart from a little bad mood, nothing happened. Then came Easter and I had it all: wine, beer, chocolate - you name it. Skin outbreak afterwards and, as to be expected, I have no idea if it's due to the sugar or not. So, during the last days, I kept a couple of days clean eating and then have a day or two where eat sugar and other things. But to sum it up: I scheduled a 2nd whole30 for after the summer holiday and then have a proper reintroduction. Because yes, it is important. But overall, apart from my skin worsening, I don't see any other side effects. Obviously, my sleep is less good when I drink alcohol. But other than that ... nothing. You've been all so good! Congrats on that!

Hello everyone! CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who made it to day 30!!!!! I am so proud of team 2018-02-26!!! So good to read about all your weight loss and NVS. I for myself prepared for the reintroduction reading "FFF". @Amy Rose: I highly recommend you reading this. It prepares you so well and also lets you understand how this program really is a life-changer, not a temporary diet. I "only" lost 4-5 pounds but I've been a healthy eater and I've been doing lots of sports since I can think. However, my % body fat is always high (> 25 %) though I am really not big or tall at all. My sleep changed massively for the better and my skin turns out to me a lot more smooth. Also, people get to make me laugh more easily. No cravings at all, I guess that's the best NVS I could hope for. But we'll see once the Sugar Dragon is waking up. So, I wanted to start with sulfite-free wine yesterday. My husband promised me that we would have some at home, just to realize later on that we didn't. So, I introduced bread yesterday, full-gluten bread because that's what I missed the 2nd most. I know, it's not good to start with gluten or dairy right away but I'll keep good note on what changes now (mood/skin/sleep etc.). I'll be sticking to whole30 today and tomorrow again and then introduce alcohol on Saturday. As far as the gluten goes, I had a bad mood last night, very bad, but no physical signs of distress. Keep it rollin'!

@Liesje: CONGRATULATIONS! You are whole30! How are you feeling? Would you like to share with us your most important NSVs? How is reintroduction going? @Amy Rose: Thank you so much! I went out dancing last Saturday until 4am, not having a single drink, but instead being the driver for our little party crew. I felt so good, even though it's hard to resist good Belgian beer. I am on day 24, wearing a nice dress today and feeling sexy and energetic and healthy. What else to ask for? I cooked my first Bolognese ever yesterday and friends and family loved it (whole30 compliant, of course ). They all had pasta with it and I had simple roasted red beets with it. And you know what? They caramelized in the oven and it tasted like a natural, sugary explosion in my mouth. So sweet that I decided to not have a fruit afterwards. Yum! Also, I always thought I was a good sleeper but since two weeks, I need a lot less sleep, I wake up from alone longtime before my alarm goes off and I sleep so deeply. Someone could ring the door at 4am, play a trumpet or drums loudly, kidnap the kids, ring the doorbell again and leave ... I would not realize it. My husband says I've never slept that deeply since we know each other (10.5 years). Also, I do sweat a lot less overnight. This must be all due to a better digestion, I guess. How is everyone else feeling? Any major changes?

So here we go: coaches all over the place! Yay! @ShannonM816: thanks for all the information. How does that work? Do some coaches work part-time as an "aside" of their regular work? Or full-time? @Amy Rose Thanks for asking. It was ok at first (resisted all snacks, cigarettes, only had water), then it was weird when everyone ate whilst sitting at the table (I had eaten earlier that night at home) ... leaving my plate blank. It got worse when they served the dessert at 1 am and I really love these tartes. I actually got such a bad mood that I left an hour later. So hum ... at least I was proud sticking to the program.

@Liesje as far as I know it also has been translated to German and French. Definitely no coaches here in Europe. Yeah, I have the feeling that my taste buds hare "healing". I just had the most sugar-like tasting red bell pepper and orange ever. So good. And that right after one of the strongest yoga sessions I've ever had. Really well concentrated and focused, pretty darn strong. Yay yay yay. Have a great weekend everyone! I am going to a party tonight where there is usually lots of good food and alcohol. Oh no!

Ha, sorry, my mind is playing games with me. Do you know why coaches don't exist anywhere else but the US? I was just wondering the other day why the program didn't really "expand" to other parts of the world yet. And yes, I am also passing the scale and always wondering. That's probably the reason we should have long thrown it out of the window. However, I tell myself that not weighing myself is a lot less hard than not having a diet coke. So I am in day 10, apparently the hardest days together with day 11. I am seriously egg--breakfast-bored but other than that, I try and cook once a day and use a recipe I haven't cooked yet. That keeps it diversified. Good job on day 17, you are more than halfway through. Any plans for afterwards? A glass of wine maybe? I also feel good but my husband says that I always misunderstand him. Oh well ...

[email protected] and thanks for your kind words. @Wing and a Prayer: yes, living and love to live in Brussels. I speak German and French at home and Dutch whenever I get the opportunity. I so must visit the Nederlands more often. Are you Dutch? So here we are in WEEK 2 and I am glad that I can say that I encountered no problems so far. occasionally, I felt tired, but that's just me wanting to nap every now and then. I didn't want to kill anyone and I only craved diet coke for about 10 seconds when my hubby had a huge sip in front of me yesterday night. But I hadn't been drinking enough throughout the day, so I was just thirsty after my yoga class and needed something fizzy-watery in my mouth. The mineral water did the job. I feel good and I all of a sudden wake up after only 6 hours of sleep and it feels like being awake (then again getting tired around noon-ish during the weekend). As for the cooking, I made both beef and chicken broth and my first ever homemade mayo (which I am not a fan of). It's unusual for me to eat so much meat and so much fat in general. But I do understand how it fuels us ... just like sugar, yet, in a "better" and more long-lasting way. What I really like is that my children are so loving the food. Leek and potatoes simply roasted in the oven, I almost didn't get any. So I have to prepare bigger portions now. Whole30-chilli for last night, they loved it. The only thing I am really bored with is my breakfast. Eggs. Eggs. Egss and again eggs .... naaaaahhh! I am such a big breakfast-lover, sweet things, bread ... I might soon start to miss that OR skip breakfast in general. though that might lead to being hungry later on in the day. I hope you are all well!

Hello everyone! How are you holding up? I am strangely doing very well, not feeling hungry, not having any cravings or being cranky. So I assume I am going to hit a wall pretty soon and pretty hard. I am feeling too good to be true. However, my hubby cooked lunch yesterday and made peas and I ate them (as I bought them myself) and only realized afterwards that they are non-compliant. But instead of starting all over again, I am just gonna do a couple of days more at the end. Here is a little overview on what I ate and how I felt the last days: https://www.instagram.com/diversityforce83/ I love that idea of skyping with a same-boat-friend @Wing and a Prayer . Unfortunately, whole30 is not yet that big in Europe, so I am all by myself. So, even better I found that thread here. Keep on fighting! D.

@Amy: thanks for asking. As you said: pretty non-eventful. A light headache this morning (2nd day) that went away after my lunch-yoga-break. So far, no gravings or crankiness either. Just at times the moment when you want to take a cookie out of the box and then go : "Nah, I can't". Off to day 3!
