    Starting first Whole 30 January 1!

    I’m going for the whole 30 days. Fallen off the wagon a couple of times and need someone to encourage and accountable to. PS I live in Norway

    Countdown on: Day 22. I went to the gym this morning. At 0630 AM. Except for hiking I've not done any exercise since July. I get dizzy, headaches and muscle pain for weeks after when I strain. So, today was an experiment. If I don't feel any ill affects by this coming weekend I'll do it again next Tuesday. Also, I had the smooth zucchini soup in Well Fed 2 last night and for breakfast today. I think I need an explanation: What is the difference between broth and stock in American English? Hope everyone is doing ok. My goal is to complete this W30 the best way I can. And then the next one and the next one will not only go better, but I'll eat cleaner. Takes time to 'know' what is what and where to get it. AND afford it.. :-) So, every 4th month I'll do a W30. Trina

    Lizzie, I just almost did as u. And then in the last minute I asked if it came from a bottle. And it did. So I din't... I so got the flu today! Body heavy and kind of tight. Low concentration. And headache. And my excema ... don't get me started. Basically not a good start. Glad it's friday t

    Try buying avocado nets for the hunger. Cheep affordable fat! And yes, Scandinavians do eat a bit cleaner. However, watch out for meet produced outside of Scandinavia. It may contain both steroids and penicillin.

    just one question: U say u can't translate the ingredients. Whole30 is about clean food. Should there BE any ingredients? Vegetables, protein and water About the sharing, been there done that. Crushed tomato is cheap and take up small amounts of space. Same with coconut milk. Minced meat can bee cooked and saved and add a different vegetable each week and u're easy (but boring...) paleo. About the partying, stay strong and say no. Sparking with lime and a straw is the way to go. Dancing might even be easier!! heheh

    Hi I'm on day 3. And I believe my carb-headache is done for because even thought finding sleep went slow yesterday I slept very well :-) Also, I was out eating dinner yesterday. First we went to a thai restaurant. I asked: What dishes does not have sugar in them? My answer: none. So we went to another restaurant where I had steak and great veggies slow cooked in oliveoil. Yum I'm preparing for taco night with my brother and his family this weekend making taco spices to have in my minced meat and homemade salsa. I use salad, little gem, instead for taco. Trina

    u're right. it flared up the last time too. hopefully it will calm down quicker good luck on the preparing bigger meals. On Friday I'm packing breakfast, lunch and dinner since I'm doing some social thing (Christmas rock concert) with my work buddies. AND they'll be drinking. Good thing I'm almost broke. Good excuse heheh

    Hi Lizzie Seems to me that planning and preparing is something you could benefit from. Like, if u know u're gonna work long hours and late, why are u so hungry? And snacking (It starts with food) is to be avoided during W30. Just saying... t PS norway is great and less confusing... hehehe ps2 slept bad too. My eczema is on the rise

    My Norwegian christmas dinner (pinnekjøtt) is explained here: http://mylittlenorway.com/2009/12/pinnekjott/ In my family we serve it with rutabaga mash. Some families cook the mash with potatoes, cream, carrots. In my house it is cooked, added some 'pinnekjøtt' stock and mashed by hand. The reason I feel this is whole30 for me is i've always skipped the potatoes anyhow !! hehe

But since I know that I can´t control myself if I first start eating the things I like, I have to control ALL that goes through my mouth Besides, Norwegian dining is all about the meat! Trine

    My greatest challenge is alone-time. When I'm alone I feel like a glass of wine and a cigarette. I can feel it sneaking up on me now. on day 1!!!! So I plan to have no 'relax' time. Or feeling a need to escape. Because, folks, that's what it is. I escape into a book with some alcohol, smoke and a kitchen fan to hide the smell. This is what brought me down the last W30 i did. But this time of year there are so many things, which is why if fits PERFECTLY for this kind of malfunction. For me it is not about the food, it is about emotional escape. So Dfroehlich, not so hardy :-)

    Hi Lizzie So glad u decided to join :-) I've done the emails and saved them. They are good to have for when u need a boost. Keep u aware. Only thing is, I received them SOOO late. Like well after lunch. (because i live in Norway... hehe) I also tell EVERYBODY that I meet that I'm doing 'it' again for 30 days. As we say in Norway 'Ris bak speilet': a silent audit when everybody knows if u fall off... About the alcohol, don't sweat it, sparkling water with squeezed lime is good!. And a straw in it and nobody will be the wiser. About that book, I'm looking in to it. Think maybe I've enough books on why. Now I need to implement the how Day one is halfway through. My goal today is eat good food, and wash some clothes. Tomorrow is the goal to eat good food and wash the shower cabinet etc. My goal is to DO something everyday in addition to eat well. This because I've a notion that if I clean/tidy my living area I tidy my brain and emotions too. Trine

    Hi Roz Thank you for join me! I'm having no problem with the grain part. it is the socializing that is my nemisis. So I tell EVERONE what I'm doing so that many witnesses can point the finger at me. If I could make a wild guess, the sugar/sugarfakes are the culprit to your 'slight cold'. The cacao in it self might be a kicker but the end product overwhelm the goodness in it :-) I'm reading Well Fed 2 in order to boost my confidence. Trine
