    First time January start...

Hi Janai- the coconut milk and coffee may just grow on you! It took me a bit my first Whole 30, but it's been one of those habits that's stuck with me ever since. Cheers! Jenn

    First time January start...

Hi everyone! It's nice to virtually meet you all! This is my 3rd Whole 30, but I'm in desperate need of a reset. I saw great results from the first two, but after moving halfway across the country about 18 months ago, starting a new job, and the stresses that come with it, I've fallen back into bad food and exercise habits. Looking forward to a fresh new start in 2017! Would love to join the FB group too, I need the accountability! Jenn

Let me know what you think- even my non-Whole 30 hubby was a big fan! I cut the recipe in half and still had 30+ meatballs, which gave me 5 days worth of lunch protein. I'm all for anything I can cook once that will last me most of the week.

Hi all- glad to see everyone is still hanging in there! It's my day 19... just waiting for my tiger blood now. LOL! It took a bit the first round last August, so I'm not anticipating it in the next few days. I bought a spiralizer a few months back and adore it. I make a batch of pasta sauce with crumbled turkey sausage, and then toss in raw "zoodles" when the sauce is done, simmer for a few extra minutes. The zoodles will cook in the sauce. It tastes great- I don't miss pasta at all. One more to share- I made Well Fed's Bora Bora Fireballs and Sunshine Sauce this week- oh my gosh is that good stuff! I've been taking them to work for lunch every day along with green beans, carrots, and a little fruit. If you haven't tried them yet, I highly recommend them. They have a decent kick, but not so much heat that I'm scrambling for my water bottle either. I hope everyone is doing well- have a great weekend!

Hi Sandy! Sorry for the delay in responding, I'm still here, but terrible at keeping up with the forums and the FB page! I have heard the same about making sure to always wear shoes with good arch support. I'm always nagging my sister about flip flops in the summer time (that's what big sisters do, right?!). My arches collapse when I run, so I need good shoes and good support inserts as well to avoid ankle pain from posterior tibial tendonitis. That side-lined me for a few weeks about a year and a half ago, and icing really helped!

Hi Sandy, My sister also contends with PF, and gave me some good advice when I started running. Freeze a plastic water bottle, then use it to roll out your arches. It's helped both of us- maybe it will help you as well.

Welcome Maria! You know what they say- 3rd time is a charm! I completed my first Whole 30 last September and was amazed at the emotional changes that went along with the physical. Just feeling overall happier and more positive, more in control of emotions- it's amazing what 30 days will do. Good luck!

Welcome Laura- and congrats on your weight loss, that's fantastic! I finally lost the remaining baby weight a few years ago. I was stuck at a plateau since then which I finally broke through during my last Whole 30. Nothing got me through it until then. I think if anything can push you over the plateau, this will be it. Good luck! edit: I didn't go into this for weight loss, I was in the healthy range, but still about 10 lbs away from "goal". The weight loss was just an added benefit- but it paled in comparison to the other benefits.

I totally understand where you are. When I'm really in my groove, eating right and exercising, I feel great. But once I start missing workouts, and I start giving in to too many treats, I just feel kind of blah overall. After finishing my Whole 30 in September I felt amazing, and kicked myself for letting that go over the holidays. But hey, it's why we're here, right?

Nice work bluebonnets, staying compliant at parties is tough! A friend once told me it works well if you take a slice of cake, kind of stab at it with your fork, move it around the plate, and it looks like you've "eaten" without eating. Of course, my willpower usually works better if I just say no thanks up front. My birthday is next weekend, I'm a bit worried about how I'm going to do myself as we'll be visiting with my aunt and uncle. She is big into health food, but in the traditional way we grew up with (low fat, whole grains), and isn't quite sure what to think of my Whole 30 stuff. But I'll figure it out! I'll be almost 2 weeks in at that point (started 12/29), and I don't want to lose that much progress!

I have been craving soup the past few days non-stop! Years ago when hubby and I used to frequent the Olive Garden (bad I know...) my favorite thing there was their Zuppa Toscana soup. That's been on my mind the past few days, I need to recreate it Whole 30 style (probably been done already- just have to search!).

Hi all! I've been fighting off a head cold the past few days and it finally hit me full-force this afternoon. Still being compliant, but man is the desire for comfort food strong when you're not feeling well! Dinner ended up being simple tonight, eggs, potatoes and spinach. Fairly comfort-foodish, but still compliant. I'm looking forward to sleeping in a bit tomorrow and hopefully kicking this head cold before the busy week gets going again. Have a great evening/day! Thai green curry sounds amazing- you're inspiring me to give that a shot!

Welcome! I'm the only one in my house too. My hubby does eat pretty healthy, but is a stickler for his yogurt and granola in the mornings, and sometimes a little cereal for dessert in the evening. Otherwise he'll eat and cook compliant meals at lunch and dinner, so I can't complain. The kids are another matter... they'll eat the dinners without too much complaining usually, but don't like mommy's "stinky" breakfasts with eggs, mushrooms, garlic and sauerkraut. lol!
