    leahcarn FODMAP reintroduction log

I've done 2 whole30s before this one, so I'm not a complete newbie. I finished this whole30 2 days ago (and messed up my fodmap attempt). My results this whole30 were pretty underwhelming. I don't feel any better, I am slightly improved at telling the difference between hungry and snackity, but that's about it. My fodmap symptoms seem to be taking yonks to clear up, and i don't have the mental fortitude to see that through right now. Much to my apprehension, I plan to take a break from the forum, and from thinking about food, and just relax and work on some of the non food factors of wellness. (i took an apricot rather than a banana from my friends fruit bowl today, living dangerously!). Thank you all for your help, ill see you when I return!

    Do I have to reintroduce?

For some foods, I reintroduced once and then never touched them again, rather than bringing them back into my daily food. Just so I know what my reactions were. If you already know they affect you badly, you don't need to reintroduce them again

I do the same Praxisproject, I do think there is a social aspect to "breaking bread", i.e. sharing food, so I like to make something compliant I can share (and win the odd bake-off ) but apart from that, I don't really do a lot of SWYPO baking. Although I am very proud of my no-added-sweetener birthday cake =) I really struggled getting though yesterday, just fed up with all the restrictions. I want to go off the rails for a bit, try making hazelnut butter, make beef and broccoli stir fry, heck, I'm even craving garlic bread!! The Hartwig's famous tough love says that the Whole30 is not hard, well that may be so, but following the low fodmap whole30 99% for 6 months sure is!! Journal entry from yesterday I just want to give up. It is extremely hard to be SO restrictive for so long, and I'm sick of it. I just wish I could off-road without bad effects. Whole30 day 29(!!!) low fodmap day 8, and I'm struggling badly. I haven't really noticed any relief of symptoms, and I'm bonking badly midafternoon because I changed the type of meat I was using in my lunch frittata so I'm not getting enough fat now =( I have a few family dinners in the next week or so, and getting my parents to understand what I'm dong is REALLY hard, then at the in-laws, I probably won't even be able to eat the food my paleo SIL brings! Why must my body betray me?
  6. Coconut bloats me up really badly, I think some people just don't do well on it

I'll be carrying on here as I have more days to go, but I will eventually join you all in the reintro thread. (And yes Praxisproject, I think SWYPO will be one of the only things coming back for me too)

I think a lot of people drop out of whole30, particularly when they do the big site-wide events, because a lot of people jump on as a spur of the moment thing. Add that to the New Years Resolution crowd, and its probably now that unusual to be down to us stalwarts =)
  12. Thanks lucie, it helps a lot. I never thought about repeat reintro for the same food before

    What's your favorite offal receipe?

Paleo moms Turkish hidden liver meatballs, and 50:50:50 burgers. I actually prefer heart stir fried, can't stand it with a long cooking time, it goes all rubbery. I count bone marrow and pork crackle as offal too, yum!
  14. LucieB, when you were reintroducing, how did you decide what serving size to eat? Just a normal serving size, or did you eat mire than usual to discover for sure whether you were sensitive? (glad its not just me with the green beans)

Bronnyd, when I finished my last whole30 I blended a frozen banana in a blender and ate that, then moved into reintroductions. PoukieBear I have my own fodmap reintroduction thread but is be happy if we started a group one for support at well
