    Are the risks worth it?

I went through a situation like you describe with milk. It affected me a lot more when I reintroduced it, than before I did whole30. Now, 2 years later, my poor gut has healed to the extent that if I want, I can go to a cafe and get a hot chocolate and I don't react too badly. However, I know if I did that every day, I would be doing internal damage and just feel like crap, so I save it for the BEST hot chocolate, and the richest, most decadent ice cream, and the knowledge of how to keep myself healthy and feeling wonderful is worth it 1000 times over. Hope that helps.

    The crazy things people say

Crazy things people do: when hubby puts the grass fed lambs fry on the dog side of the freezer. Haha sorry love, that's people food!
  3. How much fat are you eating? You are going to have to eat an awful lot of veges to replace a concentrated carb source like honey, and snacks. Try upping the fat? Have things improved any? I wouldn't try low fodmap unless you have unresolved gut issues, that's really the point of it. Its like AIP - good if you have an autoimmune disease, but not worth the effort otherwise. Hope things improve for you soon
  4. Sounds like by cutting out snacks and sweeteners you have lost a lot of calories, have you replaced them with bigger meals? I did a low fodmap whole45 (my second wholesomething with paleo between) and now in the middle of reintroductions. Is that what you were asking?
  5. What is the difference between strict paleo eating and whole30 eating, for you?

    False Starts

What feelings are you trying to hide with food? How could you more constructively deal with these feelings? What else could you do as a distraction?

    Affording Whole30 on a Budget

I also buy my spinach frozen, and make my own nut butters and ghee

    Affording Whole30 on a Budget

I can't give specifics because I don't know what area you are in, but I buy meat on special, buy beef in a 1/4 cow share, and have a set price for veges and fruit I won't go above. We are eating a lot of swede and pumpkin at the moment, because that is what's in season, and therefore cheap. Would like to start growing our own sweet potato, they are so expensive!!

    Plate Size

I had the same problem! The 1-3 cups of veges really helped me visualise it. Interestingly, one of the habits I had to break was using a smaller plate for meal 1, they started out being ridiculously high piles of food!
