My Note to Self and Victories on Day 56

Fantastic! Well done. How great that your family has been supportive to help you get through the holidays rather than pushing food on you. Aren't you proud of your commitment and the results which have come from making new & smarter choices?! You should be!

Favorite Meat Dish (suitable for Christmas dinner)?

Thanks, ArtFossil! I think I have decided on this http://www.dallasnews.com/lifestyles/food-wine/latest-recipes/20141216-standing-rib-roast-prime-rib.ece.

Favorite Meat Dish (suitable for Christmas dinner)?

    Thanks, Chris.
  4. Hi all - My favorite roast from Costco is not available this year, and it's probably ok, because I'm doing a December Whole 30 and it likely has unapproved ingredients in the marinade (my guess is sugar and soy at the minimum, but since it isn't available, it matters not at this point). A couple of years ago I ordered a nice roast from my local farmer to make for Christmas dinner, but whatever I did to it was not very good and it ended up being tough and not too tasty. Anyone have a recommendation for a fairly simple and delicious compliant meat dish? I'm only cooking for 8, so that's helpful! Thanks in advance.

Whole30 success: fueling a creative life!

Great work! You have made the year ahead so much better for yourself by what you did in 2015.

    On Day 0... Starting Tomorrow!

I'm in, too! Starting tomorrow although I am eating compliant today, too. I want to take good care of myself and wake up on December 31 feeling proud of the past 30 days! This time of year is a big challenge, so having firm rails to run on in place will work well for me. Raven, it's awesome that you have already done so much food prep! Good work!

What are the "rules" for re-intro of food types?

Aha - this was my exact question. To follow the protoccol in ISWF, day 1 (today), I am trying out dairy. I ate Greek yogurt and berries for breakfast and will have some cheese with lunch or dinner. Then, do I observe how I feel over the next couple of days without eating any more dairy than that? Or do I eat dairy on days 2 and 3 also? It sounds like 1 day of dairy, followed by 2 more days of observation. Then 1 day of the next food group, followed by 2 more days of observation. Got it. Thanks!
  8. Good work! Fourteen inches in one month?! Stop and think about that for a minute. The scale is a stupid liar. That's fat which is GONE! Keep going - you will continue to see changes like those drops in inches! You feel great. You look great. Yay for you!

    Struggled..... "Failed"

Fall down 7 times, get up 8. You aren't alone in the struggle against emotional eating and you can do this. Do you think if you started a Whole 30 log on here (the forum), you could write when you are tempted? It has helped me. Good luck!

Day 1 of Whole 30 TODAY!

Hi Karyna, My name is Sara and I started my 2nd Whole 30 yesterday. Looks like you did terrific on your Day 1! Good work. I struggle with emotional eating and when I did my first Whole 30 back in Spring of 2012, I experienced freedom like never before. It was amazing. So I'm back for more healing. I hope we can support one another in this journey. Feel free to stop by my log in the Join the Whole 30 section (SimpleNotEasy's Whole 30 Log) if you want to read my musings. Stay strong! Sara

    Starting tomorrow Sept 14

Hey y'all. It's good to find a few who are starting around the same time. Today is day 1 of my second Whole 30. I'm using the Whole 30 as a means toward healing from emotional eating - using food and wine to stuff my emotions. This is about healing and self-care. When I did my first Whole 30 in the spring of 2012, I experienced freedom as never before. Somehow, I've fallen back into old patterns, so I am back for more healing. I know I'm going to need other tools besides the Whole 30, but one has to eat every day, and I know this way of eating will help me in the process. I'm looking forward to keeping up with how it's going for you, as well.

My first Whole30 starts in 10 minutes:)

Hi there. How is Crossfit? I have an interest in trying it, but despite having some experience with lifting weights, I am just not sure that I can do those workouts without injuring myself. I'm 43 and today is day 1 of my second Whole 30. I'm using it as a means toward healing from emotional eating - using food and wine to stuff my emotions. This is about healing and self-care for me. When I did my first Whole 30 in the spring of 2012, I experienced freedom as never before. Then, somehow I fell back into old patterns. So, I'm back. So far, you're the only other one I've come across on the forums who's starting now, too.
