I've decided it's time for a spring tune-up. I've completed the whole 30 four times and have been "riding my own bike." I can eat gluten free foods but not dairy, when I'm not following the whole 30 strictly. Lately I have been completing work week chanlleges with co-workser who have fitbits. I'm curious to see how good I can feel while exercising and eating very well. I found the January forum to be very supportive. Thanks Dawn for starting this post and thanks to everyone for trying your best. Warmly, Nancy

Hello Folks, I really sailed through this whole 30 it is my fourth one in not quite two years. I feel good but not amazing. However, I work really hard and I think I'm not really noticing that I probably am handling stress better. I haven't been able to exercise during this whole 30 but I did a little warm up with my students and was appalled how sore my muscles were. So I decided right then and there that I would make exercise my new whole 30. Julzolgy, I like your idea of songwriting. I rarely think of something so fun to do as a new habit. I think I will ponder that and come up with something for March. I'm sticking with the whole 30 for now and plan to try re-introducing a couple of things when the time seems right. So glad to do this with all of you! Nancy

I don't have any wisdom to share except to say that I was similarly befuddled this morning. I wonder if I'm getting enough sleep. I suspect it is another layer of detoxifying.

Hey Phantommeb, so glad to hear you are feeling better. That was quite and experience you had there. I love soup and love your soup idea. I've done a simmilar thing with a brothy zucchini soup. I like to poach my eggs in it. I've alos made it with spinach and sausage. Yummo! I'll have to try your method. The picture is beautiful and I would probably add Kale. Be well!

Hello All, Just finished day 4. I've done the whole 30 at least three times. My body is adjusting more quickly to the changes this time around but it has been like a rollercoaster. I feel fine and then I feellike I'm getting a cold. Later, I have a headache but that passes and I'm fine for a while. My throat was sore for about an hour, my earached for a different hour, I was very sleepy and then I was energetic. I got home and made this wonderful soup: sweet potato soup with carmeized onions and cinnamon meatballs topped with zhoug! I saw this recipe but couldn't find it when it was time to cook, so I made it up. So delicious... Good luck tomorrow!

Made it through day 2!!!! And it was a long one: I taught all day, came home to make dinner and then went to a board meeting. I'm very proud of myself!

I made a big roast chicken to have easy protien for most days. It wasn't an easy first day. I was worried about starving while eating the wonderful roast chicken with broccoli, sweet potato and salad. I know its not logical but there it is. But breakfast and luncha are ready for tomorrow and I have a good plan for dinner. Thanks for the inspiration everyone! Nancy

You are not alone! I'm sure there are many of us who like to eat things that are not good for us, who are nervous and who could use more support. Me, too! I'm most nervous about the feelings that will come up and not being able to comfort myself with a cookie or toast or other food drug. I, too will be rlying on this community for support. today I will also print out the list from the downloads on this site about non-scale victories and highlight the things that are true for me. I've done the whole 30 before and know that there are many benefits. it will be good to see how issues have been resolved but eating what is good for me. Let's have a great first day! Love Nancy

Our big day is upon us! I'm rooting for us all. My first time doing the whole thrity it took me three tries of almost 30 days before I was able to complete it (yes, I had off prgram foods on days 28, 29). I will complete it even if I have to restart and I know that everyday that I was successful, I learned from and helped me to be more sucessful the next time. Go US!!! Nancy

Good luck, Old Crone. Remember you are not alone -- there is a whole bunch of us who are taking on this challenge right along side of you! I'm re-starting the whole30. I am looking forward to not feeling hungry and having more mental clarity. My Doctor siad my cholesterol is not bad and would lead to heart diseases in ten years. At first I was okay with that. But then I started, thinking, it makes no sense to wait for a porblem to arise, when I can do something now that would eliminate the problem altogether.
