Checking in… sounds like everyone is doing well. Day 3 down for me. Going on a wild woman encampment in the morning. Will shoot guns at targets, shoot arrows at targets, and then for dinner, stalk and kill our own bear. Kidding about the bear, although I think it's on the compliant list. Will not eat lunch and dinner from food trucks. Will bring compliant meals from home. Have a good weekend everybody.

Day two in the books, and I've gone straight to Kill All The Things! Maybe because I started a whole30 a few weeks ago and made it to day 7. But, anyway, woe to all who crossed my grumpy path. lol. I know it will pass. Today: Breakfast - 3 soft-boiled eggs Lunch - Baked potato and compliant ham, and a Lara Bar Dinner - Baked potato and pork with compliant homemade tomato sauce. I'm on my way to a birthday party. I will wish the birthday guy well, and enjoy the company. Isn't that the real reason for parties? Woe to anyone who offers me cake. Have a great day everybody, and congrats to those who have quit smoking! That is huge! I quit this past March. I would never go back to it now. You will feel so much better.

Day 1 completed! Stuck to my plan… and my guns…. all day. I recently got this job that I have now, and before that I worked from home. What a difference! I completed a Whole30 in May, mainly because I could control all my meals, and everything, without outside influences. Not so now…. when I work at a place that believes in bountiful excess everywhere all the time. Today, I dodged a serendipitous free lunch in the office kitchen, of heaping tuna salad sandwiches, pasta salad, chips and soda, and virtuously made my tea to have with my compliant homemade lunch. I was inches from a clean getaway at 4 o'clock, and a woman came around and offered everyone free chocolate chip cookies. Ack! I said, "NO THANK YOU!" just a little louder than was necessary, perhaps, but I got out of there, still compliant. Yikes! Thanks for being here, everyone! Have a happy Whole30 day!

Already fell off the wagon train. Tripped on some office cake and fell into some free pasta salad in the office kitchen. I don't want to talk about it. I'm too ashamed. I am starting again tomorrow. September 30th will be my day one. I already made my lunch for tomorrow, lettuce, tomato and leftover steak, and homemade dried apple slices. Breakfast will be 3 soft-boiled eggs. Dinner will be a baked naked potato, compliant chicken sausage, and carrots. No more fooling around. I'm ready.

Hi! I'm here to start on the 28th too. I just had a crash landing after 7 days on Whole 30. So, if at first I don't succeed, I start over. Lol. Hi Jeanie! Hi jmn1962!

You can use this thread right here. It's nice to see what other people's meals look like, so post away! And post what you eat everyday to keep accountable, and we've got your back. Yesterday, breakfast was 3 soft boiled eggs, lunch was a sweet potato, chicken breast and a tomato, dinner was homemade chicken soup, a baked potato, and leftover grilled eggplant. Snack was cashews. Happy day 3 everyone!

    First Whole30 and STRUGGLING

Hi Bethany, Good for you for being on day 11! I agree with everyone's advice here. It's been my experience too, that upping the fat and protein, and lowering the fruit intake is what helps with the cravings. Hard boiled eggs help a lot. Jmcbn recommended a serving of potatoes or sweet potatoes at one of your meals. That also works well. I started to really look forward to sweet potatoes fried in coconut oil. Yum! The support in these forums is also great for keeping on track. Keep posting everyday, if you can. Deb

I'm in too! I completed a whole30 back in the spring, and have since fallen so far off the wagon, I can't even see the tracks where the wagon used to be. lol. Mentally preparing this weekend. Ridding the house of offenders and most importantly… wine. It's a hard job but someone has to do it. I am 59, and have been fighting dermatomyositis, fibromyalgia, arthritis and chronic fatigue for 20 years. I felt the best I had in years, when I did whole30 the first time, so I'm anxious to return. I've learned my lesson and I've come back home. Glad to be with you all on the journey! See you on the 14th!

That is wonderful news, Mcki. Best wishes to your grandpa. I went to New York City, and I'll be back home tonight. I ate everything. I do mean everything. Korean barbecue, ooh la la French artisanal cheeses and wine, Thai, oysters and champagne, and something called Pink Berry. I am ready for some sanity. Plus I spent so much money that all I can afford is cat food anyway, which I think is whole 30 compliant. Lol.

Mcki, so sorry to hear about your grandpa. My prayers go out to you and your family. I haven't been able to stick to this current Whole30 fully either, but I am learning every day about my body and what it likes and doesn't like. I am still doing whole30 90% of the time, and trying only to add non-compliant things for special occasions, like a once in a lifetime dinner out at a fancy French restaurant. I have learned that I can no longer tolerate wine. (Insert loud wail of grief here….) I used to love dry reds paired with brie or other pretentious French cheeses before my first Whole30, and now a bare 3 oz of wine has me sick for a day or two. What happened? I've also learned that pizza does the same thing, as did the one and only doughnut I had yesterday. I'm still sorting out whether dairy or cheese does anything. I don't think so, so far. Basically, anytime I stray away from the whole30 menu, my symptoms come back so quickly that it's like a whack upside the head. Like my body is saying, "What the bleep are ya doing?!?" I'm still loving my 3 soft-boiled eggs for breakfast, and I'm still compliant most days. I'm glad I found this way of eating. I'm mostly just sad about the wine. Oh… I have lost 8 pounds since I started in May. So… woot to that!

Someone recommended sparkling water or compliant club soda with an olive and a lemon slice. I tried it when out with friends who were drinking and it really did help. Very refreshing, and I didn't miss my wine at all... or hardly at all.

Bricky, I'm already feeling better. I started the second whole30 yesterday, and things are calming down. How are you? Are you joining us on the July 1st challenge?

Day 2! I already feel a little bit of tiger… peeking around the corner. Maybe because I just finished a whole30. I will continue my exercise today, The Iron Geezer. lol. Walking 2miles, stationary bike 30 minutes, swimming 6 laps (mostly doggie paddle )… and maybe a little elliptical, too. Very little, like 10 minutes. I also will do some yoga this morning, because all this sudden activity is making me so stiff and sore! But I will keep going. My inspiration is my sister, who is 55 years old and does the actually Iron Man competition. She also competes in bodybuilding shows. She is a force of nature. If I can do even a fraction of what she does everyday, it will be phenomenal. Breakfast - my favorite… 3 soft boiled eggs. Lunch - leftover Indian spiced ground beef on romaine leaves, an apple Dinner - Pork patties, roasted carrots and the Whole30 ratatouille. Have a great, powerful, Whole30 day everyone!
