  1. Whoops. Guess I better get off the scales! I have been 100% compliant in everything else for a full 21 days so far and have every intention of keeping at it for another 9--at least. That is such a HUGE accomplishment for me. So the scale thing is my only slip, but when I start feeling clothes fitting better it is darn hard not to see what the result is, so if that is my only gaffe in this whole process, I am good with that--but I'll keep that info to myself.
  2. Hope you made it through your trip to New Jersey without any hitches. I can't believe it is Day 16! I have stuck to it completely--quite a feat for me from my usual navigation through "diets". I like that I'm not feeling hungry. You're good--I "cheated" and got on the scales. I am down about xx pounds, so that has made me feel like I can tackle two more weeks. Good luck!

    Extreme fatigue during workouts

I will try to incorporate more fat I to my diet along with extra pre and post workout meals as you decribe and see if this helps. I may be low on fats for sure, so I will pay special attention to that too.

    Extreme fatigue during workouts

I am eating carbs- just a drastic drop in them from my prior diet. My trainer believes in eating a small healthy carb meal prior to working out- like oatmeal, so her school of thought is just that I don't have enough carbs on board for energy to sustain the workouts. Typical day of my whole30 is: Breakfast: 3 eggs, 1/2 grapefruit, sautéed green veggies or green veggie juice; lunch: lettuce greens, topped with salmon, walnuts, tomato, avocado, cucumber, balsamic vinegar and olive oil; dinner: grilled chicken breast, sautéed spinach, roasted beets. More starchy vegetables perhaps?
  5. I am used to working out with a trainer 3 times per week with circuit training of at least a moderate to high level. The workouts are tiring, but I always get through them. I am currently on day 9, and my past two workouts have left me exhausted to the point I have had to sit down and rest during the workouts--not usual for me at all. Also, I have noticed just a general lack of energy over the past 5 days of the program. My trainer likes the idea of my new healthy eating, but she does not agree with such a lack of carbohydrates-especially on days that I am working out. Any ideas on why I am feeling so tired, and also, what I should do on my work out days to boost my energy level to get through these workouts without exhaustion? I keep waiting for the tiger blood, but I think I have sloth blood at the moment.
  6. First day was good! Hanging in there now on day four! Have noticed some digestive issues & not hungry- but I figure this is my body adjusting! How is it going for you?
  7. Hi Judy, today- 8/20 -is my start day as well, although I'm doing it without my husband. I was interested in the fact that our goals and challenges are so similar, our start date the same, and our ages close- I'm 55. I hope to get rid of my heartburn, feel fewer aches and pains, gain some energy, and lose 20 pounds- although I realize the latter won't happen in 30 days. I too am totally committed- started the morning with my black coffee, about to prepare my eggs and veggie breakfast, then heading off to work out. (Working out is not a change- I already do that 3x a week). I wish you and your husband good luck- will check back to see how you're doing! Libba
