    Junebugs 2016 - Pressing On!!

JT, I failed as well. Sigh. Brush ourselves off and get back on the horse. I've stopped climbing stairs, I need to get back to that. My back won't let me plank. Glad you had a terrific time on your trip though. I'm jealous. I'm really feeling cheated? that I can't eat what everyone else in the house eats. I don't wanna cook anymore. I've been Whole 30 again for two days now. The headaches and joint pain drive me on but I'm not enjoying it. I really need to find easy, quick, tasty meals that are compliant. Oops, sorry, I thought my phone had the reintroduction group up. My apologies!

Ugh! I haven't been around in a while. My plank challenge has failed, about 9 days in my back just hurt too bad. I have been climbing stairs most days though. Reintroduction has not gone well either. I've been totally off track for a week now. It appears I can eat Whole30 plus yogurt and cheese. That's all. Everything else makes my joins hurt, gives me a foggy head and/or feeds the sugar dragon. I'm trying to get back to Whole30 but my motivation is not great. I've done well today though. Hopefully, I will be able to keep it up.

Ugh! Reintroduced oatmeal this morning, splitting headache and nauseous now. I'm going to wait on rice now and let my system clear this. At least yogurt and cheese went well on the 4th.

Oh Kelli! I hope you have a more mild case and respond quickly to antivirals. I has shingles in my 20s. Thankfully, I was seen quickly and on meds right away, the school nurse sent me. I had them on my back, wrapping around to the side. I recovered quickly. My mom had them several years ago now on her leg. She didn't go to the doctor until day 4 and she was miserable. She waited too long and the meds didn't help much. I still feel fine today, looking forward to oatmeal and rice tomorrow.

So it appears that my tiredness yesterday was from the poor sleep. I feel fine today. I hope occasional cultured dairy will be a go for me. Tytbody, stomach (or bowel) irritation is the most common issue from gluten, I think, but it causes me join pain. I'm not sure I'll reintro it at all since I know it is a problem for me.

Sounds like lots of mixed results on reintroductions, sorry for those who are uncomfortable! I reintroduced cultured dairy yesterday. What I failed to take into account is the lack of sleep caused by fireworks. I'm super tired today but not sure if it is the dairy or the poor sleeping. Otherwise, I feel well.

Sorry you are hurting tytbody. It stinks to not get the pain relief you need! Thanks for the tips on plantains, I think I will pop up to Meijer and buy one, need bananas too and Meijer is less than 1/2 mile away.

JT, love the reference to The Music Man! My kids were in it a few years ago so I understand living and breathing the music thing. We have done Seuissical too. They aren't in anything this year because of our uncertainty about staying here. I kind of miss it.

Thanks Kelli, how do I know when my plantain is nicely ripe? Do they spotted, like bananas? No big plans here. The 14 yo wants to go to the mall, hubby will drop her and a friend off and go drive for Uber while they shop. I'm taking the 8 yo to see Zootopia at the library where she will get free popcorn. I think I'll be ok not eating popcorn. We might go see fireworks Monday, not sure.

Kelli, sorry rice didn't go well, that would make me very sad. I'll have to try fried plantains, they sound yummy! Sherri, so glad your non-gluten grains appear good so far! I know I'm sensitive to corn so I'm not even going there. I need to find a good gluten and corn free tortilla like chip for eating salsa occasionally. JT, happy to have you join me in the plank challenge, I think it is just what I need. I swear I have more energy already.

Thanks for starting this! I'm down 10#, have more steady energy if not tiger blood, my clothes fit better. My 14 yo met me after work today with homemade lemonaid "Try this, I put too much sugar in it but it is good." Me, glaring at her: "Um, NO!" I will reintroduce cultured dairy on the 4th, oatmeal and rice on the 8th and maybe never the rest. I decided what to do for my next challenge: planks! Simple, yet intense, no equipment needed, don't take a lot time. I held for a pathetic 21 seconds today. Anyone want to join me? I look forward to seeing how along I can hold one on August 1. I will continue to walk and do other things too but I wanted something to commit to doing every single day.

I am a child passenger safety technician (car seat tech) working at a local hospital. I do car seat checks, bike helmet fittings, teach various safety classes and the like. I love what I do and know what I do saves lives. I love Leslie! I used to have her walk away the pounds on VHS, lol, used to do it with the kids for homeschool gym. My library has a nice selection of DVDs that I use from time to time. I have a Go Bible (mp3 with the Bible on it) but I find that requires too much focus, listening to an exciting story would be easier I think. I'll see if I can download something. I'll look up You on a Walk, thanks. I'm not generally a fan of Dr Oz, he pitches too many one size fits all solutions and "miracle pills", but a walking app should be safe.

Thanks for the audio book suggestion. I borrow books on CD from the library frequently. There is zero money to spend on anything right now, 10 months of unemployment for my husband has taken its toll. I only work part time. I may have to quit a job I love to work full time elsewhere. I have an old iPhone 4 and it doesn't always work for apps, and is super slow when it does work. I will check the App Store and see what I might find though. I mostly like walking, if I get out early enough the heat isn't too bad. Come winter, I need another option. I try to do DVDs in the winter, that is even harder than walking alone! We have two sets of stairs and sometimes I walk those for exercise on bad weather days.
