    Junebugs 2016 - Pressing On!!

Tytbody Happy Belated Anniversary! I hope you enjoyed your R.L.! Last night I had some corn chips with some guacamole. Feeling good, mentally and physically. My stay-cation is pretty blah. At least I am not at work. I want to do something but no one is available so I might drive to the beach tomorrow. Today I have a bunch of errands and 5K training, otherwise a pretty quiet day.

Still feeling good...I had real mayo on some tuna yesterday. I also had a sliver of chocolate cake. That was the first "sweet" I've had and I didn't want anymore. Plus it just didn't taste as good as it used to. 5K training is not quite going as planned. I have tremendous pain in my upper back and neck when I try to run. I'm not sure if it is tightness or the high intensity of running so for now I am power walking. I am going to go to the gym with my future daughter in law and try an elliptical to see if that is any better. The alternative is that I start playing Pokémon Go. We live near a gym and you should see the wackjobs driving around, yes I said driving, with their cell phones up trying to catch Pokémon. I could walk around the neighborhood and try to "Catch Them All." lol

The science experiment continues...due to some social obligations I had a cheeseburger 2 nights in a row and bam I woke up this morning soooooo cranky. Not to mention I felt my belly coming back. I think gluten (not dairy) is my achilles heel. I have had corn chips one night and no problems. I need to isolate dairy to be sure. It's great to see everyone trying different things and what their reactions are. I am staying compliant except for those dinners and some wine. I have felt fine except for this morning.

samnkelli I had a small spot of them when I was 21! I asked and I still could get them again because it was so long ago and such a small area. Don't wait to see a doctor. When I turn 50 I can get the vaccine which will be later this fall.

Good Morning All! It's great to see some new folks here. Except for the rice and soy I have stayed template. Next week I am on vacation from work. I am not going away and I plan on introducing either gluten or dairy at that time in a small amount. I don't want to rock the boat too much and be miserable at work so probably Friday or Saturday I will have something off plan. We have a sporting event on Saturday to attend and Friday night (when vacation starts) we have a comedy night. I will see how it goes!

Katrine I did get them a lot. It would double me over, however they didn't last like yours did. I found "relief" much quicker (much to the dismay of whomever was in the room with me). When I had my tubal ligation done they explained to me that they would inflate my belly and warned me that after surgery I could feel bloated and crampy. They also added that I could feel it all the way into my shoulders. I said "Oh, I get gas cramps like that and I feel it in my shoulders." The nurse looked at me like I had 2 heads or something. She said "Really?!?!" I thought until that time that it was normal to get pains like that from gas. I could never pinpoint the trigger because it didn't matter what I ate. Now I have few ideas what the culprits are, gluten, diet soda and dairy, or a combination of those which is another reason for me to stay mostly compliant. As far as giving birth, at least I had a baby at the end!

You know the saying, Beans, beans, the more you eat, the more you.... I used to get cramps like that all the time. I don't know if it was dairy, gluten or what. I have been eating eggs every day since starting the whole 30 and have not had that happen at all which blows ( a little pun) my mind. I have had soy in the legume family and have been fine so far. Those pains are horrible, I'd rather give birth, that is how bad mine have been in the past. It's amazing as I read how everyone's reintroduction is going that I realize how many things have changed for the better. I haven't thought about those cramps until you posted and that I haven't had them. Another win in the Whole 30 column!

I hope everyone is having a great 4th. My neighborhood is popping with fireworks (not legal) but oh well. I am having a glass of pinot noir and now I am craving all things that go with red wine, cheese, pasta etc. I have reintroduced soy in small amounts. We use a basting oil at work that is soy oil and almost all the veggies are cooked with it and since I spend most of my time there I figured I would give that a try. So far so good. I have had no gluten or sugars. I am almost positive that those are my triggers, well, except for wine. I have lost a few more pounds, the 5K training is helping with that. Here's to the red, white and blue. Oh wait, I am having the red, lol.

Tytbody I am going to finish up my ghee that I have made and then I am not sure. I don't plan on reintroducing a whole lot of stuff because first of all I feel great and secondly I am scared. I don't want to be the way I was, tired and cranky. I also know that if I have some of my old foods then I will start craving other things. If I have a sandwich, then I will want chips and so on. I feel that when I eliminated all these foods with the Whole 30 my cravings for the really "bad" stuff went away. Maybe I need to learn some self discipline or maybe I am like an alcoholic, I can't just have one drink or I will go back into it. I really don't know but mentally I am not prepared to try.

I've been absent s few days but here it goes. Lost 12 pounds! I had some sushi on Friday so I had rice and soy sauce. I know we are supposed to do one at a time but the rice was minimal. I seemed to have know problem with that. I plan to stay mostly compliant because I feel great. I know on the 4th I will have an adult beverage as I have to work straight through tomorrow and then I have 2 days off. I am so happy to see so many of us here!!!!

OMG...We did it!!!! I did the 5K training too! Then to top it off my husband and son wanted pizza so I went to the neighborhood Italian restaurant and looked at their menu. I asked them to make me chicken cacciatore with olive oil and no pasta (their sauce was compliant)...what a treat! Congrats to us all!!!! I hope to see you on Tigers and Turtles!

Wow...almost done with the 30! Tomorrow starts 5K training and I am feeling better. Energy was back up today, less lethargic so I am hoping things are trending upward for me.

Tigers and Turtles...I get the Tigers but not the Turtles. I know it is probably a dumb question but do you know the answer?

Tytbody...glad to see you are back!!! Homestretch time!! I am debating on continuing this for a bit more. I felt like I had tiger blood 2 weeks in and now I don't. I am still on an antibiotic from my hospital trip and I feel like it is messing up my system. I am staying compliant but I am careful with my choices because of diarrhea as a side effect. I am not real happy with what I have to eat (less flavor because of removing some spices for now) and I removed some fruit. Strava and Tytbody-I will stay on here while I sort this out. I am glad to see so many of us are doing well!
