Runningforme82
I have a stash of store bought and farm grown beets in my fridge........I don't know how I forgot about them, but I did. Anyways, they are starting to get soft, think they are still good?? They have been in there 2-3 weeks. Thoughts? Thanks
megmac
I eats lots and lots of beets. I roast them in the oven, and then eat them over the next 10 days or so. In my experience, if they smell okay and don't look moldy, you should be fine. Like other veggies, when they start to go bad they smell like they are fermenting. Runningforme82
Thanks Meg! I too love roasting them in the oven! I just checked and while they are soft, they don't stink or have mold on them. I should throw them in the oven while I'm getting paperwork done today. Now off to see where I put my recipe for roasting (I just can't remember what temp I roast them at. I just throw them in tin foil with olive oil) Thanks again!
