Piranha1981
Just realised my veg box includes chicory, which I understand is quite bitter. A lot of recipes that include it use honey or agave. Just wondering whether anyone has some ideas for what to do with it. I am eating some fruit so maybe something with a little fruit to sweeten it? Loulabelle
You really don't need anything to sweeten it it is quite delicious with just olive oil & balsamic vinegar along with a little salt & pepper. Another way to eat it is to braise it or fry it up a little to soften it. Although it is a salad leaf it can be cooked.
Piranha1981
It was good with olive oil and balsamic, and I added some pink grapefruit and sunflower seeds to make a little salad. It didn't need sweetening but the balsamic/grapefruit helped to lighten it a bit. I think I'll try cooking the other one I have... Thanks!
