January Whole30 Food Log

Day 23: 

7am - 3 eggs and 4 cups of spinach scrambled in olive oil

10am - 1apple

12pm - ~3oz beef, 2 cups lettuce, 1 tbsp avocado, compliant salsa

6pm-  ~3oz turkey, 2 eggs, sweet potatoes, olive oil, broccoli slaw, homemade mayo, compliant hot sauce

8pm - 1oz beef, 1 egg, olive oil, 1/4 cup pineapple

Attitude adjusted.  Turned down pie, ice cream, and a cupcake today.  Ready to face the next 7 days bravely!

Day 24: 

7am - 3 eggs and 4 cups of spinach scrambled in olive oil

10am - compliant gingerade kombucha YUM

12pm - ~4oz chicken, 2 cups kale, coconut oil

6pm-  ~3oz turkey, 2 eggs, sweet potatoes, olive oil, broccoli slaw, homemade mayo, compliant hot sauce (all in the microwave...resourcefulness ftw)

9pm - 1oz beef, 1 egg, olive oil, 1/4 cup pineapple

 

Day 25: 

7am - 3 eggs and 4 cups of spinach scrambled in olive oil

10am - 1 apple

12pm - ~4oz chicken, 2 cups kale, coconut oil

4pm - Crossfit (15lb PR on my snatch! YASS!)

6pm-  ~3oz turkey, 2 eggs, sweet potatoes, olive oil, broccoli slaw, homemade mayo, compliant hot sauce

9pm - 1oz beef, 1 egg, olive oil, 1/4 cup pineapple, the last of my homemade mayo!

I'm soooo tempted to call it good at this point and just start reintroducing, because I haven't experienced any drastic changes and I don't expect to at this point. But I'm going to stick with it for the sake of self-discipline.

4pm - ~2oz beef

5:30pm - Crossfit

7pm-  ~3oz turkey, 3 eggs, sweet potatoes, olive oil, broccoli slaw, compliant hot sauce

9pm - 1oz beef, 1 egg, olive oil, 1/4 cup pineapple

Day 27: 

7am - 3 eggs and 4 cups of spinach scrambled in olive oil

9am - Crossfit (got 18 double unders...over a 15-minute practice period..but still!!!)

11am - 2 eggs, olive oil, 1/4 cup potatoes, compliant mustard, 1 cup almond milk

1pm - ~4oz tuna, 1 egg, sesame oil, nori sheets

6pm-  ~4oz chicken, sweet potatoes, carrots, olive oil, compliant hot sauce

9pm - 1oz beef, 1 egg, 1/4 cup blackberries, 1 cup almond milk

Today was kind of a vegetable-deficient day.  I wasn't at home and didn't plan ahead.  I know I ate more than enough protein and definitely adequate fat, but i definitely didn't get in as many veggies as I normally would.

Day 28: 

7am - 3 eggs and 4 cups of spinach scrambled in olive oil

1pm - ~4oz chicken, olive oil, sweet potatoes, compliant hot sauce

3pm - ~2oz ground beef

5pm-  ~4oz salmon, sweet potatoes, carrots, olive oil, garlic, sesame oil, ginger

- weirdly nibbled on a few spoonfuls of mustard ???? random -

7pm - ~2oz chicken, 1/4 cup blackberries, 1 cup almond milk

This was a weird day.  I'm ready to be done. :P

4pm - Crossfit (TWO double-unders in a ROW)

6pm-  ~4oz salmon, sweet potatoes, carrots, olive oil, sesame oil, ginger

8pm - ~1oz beef, 1 egg, olive oil, 1/2 cup blackberries, 1 cup almond milk

Something I noticed today:

Today I gave some oreos to my kiddos as part of a review game.  As I opened the pouch of oreos and breathed deeply, I realized that typically I would snack on 3 or 4 or 10.  But because I'm on the whole30, I didn't .  And guess what?  I survived.  And feel a lot better than I would have!  Although I hate hate hate telling myself I *can't* eat something (because it makes me feel out of control) I have definitely recognized that sometimes I misuse/abuse that control that I will have post whole-30.  I will absolutely be more conscious of little things like this, where I really have no strong desire to eat something but I do because it's available.
