Anyone planning to jump in on January 1st? Join me!!

Day 4 in the can! Being my 3rd Whole30 I already knew what to expect and how to deal with meal planning main issue is and has always been binge eating. Never anything like a jumbo bag of snickers or anything, I tended to the savory - cheese and processed meats for example. I would be eating Meal 1 & 2 perfectly in keeping with the plan...then dinner would be a bag of chips (olive oil), salsa, a wedge of cheese and a package of salami. wow, seeing that in writing is even hard. Deep Breath. OK, like I said up at the top, day 4 in the can - here's to a successful reset for everyone! Jesse

    Whole Grain

Hi MBrown3 and welcome! First off, +1 on what Robin said. To continue, meta studies like the one referenced rely on self administered food questionnaires that ask the individuals to accurately remember what they ate weeks or even months ago. They are also not able to take into account the participants other eating habits. For example, other studies have shown that most people who eat more whole grain products also eat healthier in general, i.e. more veggies and less soda, candy, etc. There's really no good way to differentiate the effects of one from the other (more grains vs less junk). And after saying all that, what matters is what works for you! Personally, after completing my first Whole30 I found that any amount of grain caused negative reactions (drained energy, bloating, and occasionally an allergic skin reaction). Therefore for me, what works is steering clear of all grains, whole or otherwise. I would encourage you to do a complete Whole30, then as you re-add foods take note of your reactions and do what works best.

What A Serving of Eggs Looks Like

These are jumbos (I am a big guy at 6")... In all seriousness, I tend to keep it to 3-4/serving and mix it up. This mornings breakfast was 3 eggs scrambled with 2 beef breakfast sausages.

Anyone planning to jump in on January 1st? Join me!!

Morning all! I'm planning for Whole30 #3 starting Jan 1. I've been on this journey for several years now (pre-dating the Whole30), having successfully maintained a weight loss of ~80 pounds for 2+ years now. Recently I've found myself slipping and between that and work related stress need to jump start things once again. I don't have much of a physical network to rely on in person so I'm hoping using this forum will be the boost I need to stick with it and hit my health goals in the coming months. I'm also in the process of becoming a certified Health & Wellness coach, so before I start helping others achieve their goals, I figured I should get my house in order! I look forward to interacting with as many of you as possible over this month and seeing everyone make the 30 a success! Be Well - Jesse
