    Sore throat

Thanks for these great ideas. I've been drinking lemon tea with ginger. I'll try the sage too.
  2. Having finished the 30 day vegetarian program and lost 8 lbs, I am letting as many people as I can know about this program. When they ask me what the rules are, I tell them lots of protein, veg, fat and some fruit. They ALL say, "fat?" in disbelief. For the past 20 years I have done the low fat/no fat diet, and and realised that the fat is taken out, but often sugar is the replacement.

    slightly dizzy

I had a case of vertigo when I started the plan. But I had it before I started. It came from nowhere, so it could be that. I had a fuzzy head, and ended up having a pretty bad case of anxiety, with heart palpertations. Get your blood tested to see if you are lacking something. I had mine and all was fine. Good Luck

    Sore throat

I just finished 30 days on Saturday and began again on Monday. Yesterday I had a really sore throat and took Tylenol. I usually use lozenges to soothe my throat. Any suggestions for relief? Thanks. Mary
  6. I have read your blog, and you are doing well. Good for you.

    Hungry Veg Seeks Healthy Snacks

Yes, learning to cook is a good idea. I hate to cook, but I have taken the challenge and now that I have a few simple dishes under my belt, I'm more confident. I am also ovo-lacto vegetarian, but I did add tuna and tilapia for this program, (I'm on day 22). If you add the oils, it makes a huge difference. I was using coconut oil for a lot of cooking in the beginning, but my stomach couldn't handle it. I felt so full that I wasn't hungry for the next meal. Try roasting veggies. cut and slice sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, turnips, broccoli, zucchini, eggplants, whatever veg you like, mix them in olive oil, (lots of it) and salt and pepper and a bit of white balsamic vinegar, put in the oven at 400 and stir every 15 minutes for an hour. I make this once a week, and it keeps well in the fridge. You can look at my blog if you like. www.warmnwonderful.blogspot.com

    Your favorite tea

So annoyed today. I was walking through the mall and there was a new tea store. I was offered a sample and accepted. It was a chai tea. I took one sip and immediately asked if it had been sweetened. It was. First time, since starting W30 I had something that I didn't prepare, and it has sweetener in it! As it was just a sip, I don't think I need to start over again, but I wanted to post here, so that others don't make the same mistake I did. Always remember to ask before trying!

    March 8 first day

Just completed day 12, and all is going well. I am now back at work, and am having the opposite problem. I am hungry often. I am eating as much as I can at meal times, but a few hours later I am hungry again. I have taken to snacking. For example, today after work I came home and had some butternut squash soup and a boiled egg. I had dinner a couple of hours later, and now a couple more hours later I am hungry again. I will nibble on a few coconut flakes, to fill that void. I just read that I am in the craving part of the program, perhaps that explains it, maybe I'm not really hungry, I've tried drinking more water, but it doesn't seem to help.

Help! I need ideas on meal planning!!

You can always check out Pinterest, and search W30 meals, I did that and got a few ideas.

    Cooking fats

I was having difficulty consuming so much coconut oil, so I went out and bought a package of butter and clarified it myself. That was yesterday, I'm excited to use it today.

    March 8 first day

Day 6. Woo hoo! No headache today! I actually got myself to the gym, and manage 30 minutes on the bike. I also accomplished a number of important tasks today, and even visited a friend. This is huge, since it's been days since I last went outside! I think I'm turning the corner.
  13. I'm on Day 5 of the program, and for some reason my water intake has gone down. I am making iced herbal teas, but I know water is best. I have heard many different things about when to drink water, first thing in the morning and before bed, but I'm confused to whether I should be drinking before a meal or after it. Drinking before would fill me up and I wouldn't be able to eat my full meal. After a meal, I am often too full. I am having a hard time eating so much food, and have already cut the portion down. So any help woud be appreciated.
  14. Consider yourself lucky. I ate pretty much healthy, gluten-free, vegetarian, 3 meals a day. But I have had a headache from day 2 on, (today is Day 5). I feel awful, and often think it's not worth it, but of course Iknow it is, and I am soldiering on! Good luck to you, and hopefully you will breeze through, (but know this, I'm jealous!)
