Cappy
Day 27 Pre WO: 2 HB eggs and macadamias Post WO: 8 oz chicken breast and sweet potato Meal 1: 5 eggs, 2/3 red pepper, 1/3 red onion, 1/3 yellow pepper, 5 mushrooms all cooked in coconut oil; coffee Meal 2: Steak stir fry (1/2 lbs steak, 1/2 red pepper, 1/2 orange pepper, 1/2 yellow onion, 6 mushrooms cooked in olive oil), Handful of Macadamias Meal 3: Leftover steak stir fry with a handful of macadamias I felt much more energized for my workout yesterday, so I think Friday must have been a fluke. I went to a casino to play poker for about 8 hours last night. Instead of eating the crap food they have there, I packed up 1/2 of the steak stir fry I made for lunch and threw it in a cooler. I took a break from playing around 8 pm to go to my car and scarf down cold steak stir fry. While it's not the most ideal meal in the world, it did the trick! I'm excited to step on the scale for the first time in a month this week. I've been watching it get closer to the 200 lbs. mark. I'm 32 years old and feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm hoping that perhaps I could get to (dare I say it) under 200 lbs. for the first time since I was in high school! I am sticking on the Whole 30 for 38 days until my bachelor party in a week and a half. But I'll do my final Whole 30 results after I finish Tuesday. Cappy
Day 29 Meal 1: Leftover chicken fajita bowl from Day 28 Meal 2: Last of the chicken fajita bowl leftover from Day 28 Pre WO: 5 oz. tuna, 1/2 avocado Post WO: 8 oz chicken breast, sweet potato Dinner: Thai Curry Chicken Today felt good. A couple people at work today commented on how skinny I've been looking (even though one of them later said she wanted to go to a Brazilian Steakhouse for a team dinner just to see how much meat I can put down for their all you can eat portions, haha). Then, I crushed my Crossfit workout tonight - which felt pretty good afterward. I am going to step on the scale on Wednesday morning for the first time in a month after I finish my 30th day tomorrow. I'll post that on Wed AM with my Day 30 meals.
Cappy
Day 30 Meal 1: 5 eggs, 1/3 red pepper, 1/3 orange pepper, 1/3 yellow pepper, 1/3 red onion, 5 mushrooms cooked in coconut oil; coffee Mid Morning: Coffee Meal 2: Went out to lunch with work people - Had a 1/2 herb roasted chicken with a side of steamed asparagus and a side of spinach sauteed in olive oil Pre WO: 5 oz tuna, 1/2 avocado Post WO: 8 oz chicken breast, sweet potato Meal 3: Went out to dinner with my fiance and another couple - Had a 12 oz. NY Strip steak with a side of green beans/carrots steamed and an avocado on the side That's it! My 30 days are done, although I'm going 8 more until I leave for my bachelor party next Wednesday night. I stepped on the scale this morning and weighed in at 198.6, which is crazy. 10 pounds in 30 days after I already lost 15-20 in the previous 4-5 months of Paleo/Crossfit. So that made me feel good to be under 200 lbs for the first time since high school. I think the biggest thing of all is that I'm feeling really energetic. I notice it most of all in my workouts. I had been doing well in my Crossfit workouts, usually finishing near or at the top of my class with my time. However recently over the past couple weeks, I've been getting so much better. The past two days were shorter, fast-paced workouts. I finished my workout Monday in 9:01 and the next best time was over 11:00. Yesterday I finished in 7:04 and the next best time was 8:30. I see myself getting better and better, and I can't help but give a ton of credit to the way I've been eating over the past 30 days. Going forward, I'm definitely not falling off the wagon. I'm pretty much staying paleo for life. It has changed my life for the better, and I can't see going back to eat the crap I was eating before. That said, I think there are things that I'll be slowly reintroducing. I like to be social and have a beer or two when I'm hanging out, so I'll definitely be doing that. After my wedding in September, I may try to reintroduce some dairy back into my diet. Not a ton, but I like a little bit of good cheese or yogurt. Other than that, I'll be staying gluten and soy free as it's helped me immensely. I don't miss sandwiches or bread or anything! Thanks to everyone for the support here and for (potentially) reading my boring meals over and over again!
