abigailesther
I have a sensitivity to salicylic acid which is in most foods, but rice is one that I can eat safely. I am wondering why the whole30 does not allow rice products and what I would be sacrificing by adding them into my program?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 10, 2013 Rice is extremely light on nutrition. Carb calories without much of a contribution of micronutrients, phytochemicals, etc. And while rice is benign for most people, some folks react negatively to it as a grain. The other issue is that you would not be doing a Whole30 if you included rice, you would be following your own program. Following your own program is fine and we encourage everyone ultimately to develop their own program, but we invite people to follow the Whole30 as written to start.
