ptahoe
I would like to use a balsamic vinegar or rice or anykind but having trouble with the ingredients. Some balsamic vinegars have sulfates. Does anyone have a recommendation?
GFChris
To clarify on sulfites in vinegar, what's not ok is if sulfites are in the ingredients list. However, if sulfites are not in the ingredients list and elsewhere on the label it says something like 'contains naturally occurring sulfites,' then you're fine. SheilaT
Thank you for clarifying this Chris. It was difficult to find a Balsamic vinegar that contains "naturally occurring sulfites" as most of the Vinegars contain sulfites, with persistent search, I was successful in finding the Balsamic Vinegar I can use. I love cooking with it with my sauteed mushrooms and really good with ground beef I found.
tomservo
Check the ingredients. 9/10 the sulfites are naturally occuring unless it's cheap imitation balsamic (which wouldn't be complaint anyway because they often use cornstarch and/or sugar.
