Joanna_CR
I live in a country where typical orange sweet potatoes are not available. Ours are starchier and not tasty at all. Any other recommendations for fueling after a tough workout?
Snappy Shark
Can you get acorn squash where you live? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acorn_squash (Any of the winter squashes would work, actually, but acorn is my favorite!) I've been doing that after I get home from a run or weight-lifting session - put a couple of slices in the microwave for five minutes, sprinkle with cinnamon and eat alongside some chicken breast...YUM! Joanna_CR
Thank you! I can't get acorn, but I can get butternut. Close enough right?
Megan Claydon
butternut will work just fine! Pumpkin is a great option too!
Snappy Shark
Yup, I agree with Megan! I'm really into acorn squash at the moment, but butternut squash and pumpkin are wonderful, too. I am SO excited for Fall vegetables. =)
fitgirlH
I am loving my squahes right now, after my workout i like to fry some up (i have them pre-cubed in the fridge uncooked) in coconut oil and add them to my salad, SO delicious and really helps me with my recovery after my intense workouts
