srhawthorne85
My doctor told me to continue taking prenatal vitamins while I am breastfeeding. The problem is that both during pregnancy and afterwards they made me sick so the doctor encouraged me to take Flintstone vitamins instead. Of course these have sugar in them. Are there any alternatives that you can suggest?
praxisproject
Unless it's the swallowing that's the issue, chewable ones don't usually have very different ingredients (except a lot of additives and sweeteners). Some multivitamins contain things that don't agree with everyone. I have difficulties with a variety of folate related ingredients and can't take certain types without feeling sick, as some of these can't be processed by my body and they just build up, while other forms are what I need and I need those in higher volumes. Some people have trouble with particular forms of iron or calcium. You may want to review the ingredients with your pharmacist to see if anything in there could be eliminated in another brand/variety.
sunflowerinksa
Have you tried New Chapter or Garden of Life prenatals? They are 3 pills per day, which I take 3 times a day instead of all at one time. They are very high quality vitamins with real food ingredients instead of synthetic vitamins.
