Pregnant and supposed to eatonly 20% protein, what else do you eat?

Recommended Posts

Title pretty much sums it up, but I'm pregnant and breastfeeding so constantly hungry (but with bouts of nausea thrown in for fun). After reading the book, sounds like the suggestion is only 20% of calories should be protein, so does that mean that the other 80% should be veggies (and a bit of fruit)?

Thanks!

Hilary

I've done some tracking of my food lately and I'm usually right around 20% protein while following Whole 30 guidelines, that's 3 eggs for breakfast, and a serving of meat at lunch and supper, I don't eat tons of meat. Lots of coconut milk and ghee help up the calories, otherwise I have issues getting enough. I cook all my veggies in coconut oil or ghee and that helps as well. I'm currently 28 weeks.
