FL Mary Ann
Halfway through my first Whole 30, and I thought I was doing well. I wasn't craving sugar, I didn't want to Eat All The Things or kill anybody. And then the shingles hit, around Day 22. I have researched and looked at all the possible reasons for an outbreak, but stress was definitley not an issue, neither was lack of sleep. The only thing I can find is the sudden shift in my lysine/arginine uptake. I'm a big dairy fan, and rarely ate nuts or coconut. I will immediately drop all nuts (now what?!?), coconut (there goes two of my favorite recipes...), and bone broth. My question is, should I continue Whole 30 or focus on getting rid of the shingles? I could restart a Whole 30 later, knowing not to add certain foods. I just want these shingles GONE. I will say, I've not felt great on this regimen at all. I feel like I'm sleeping the whole time but that may have been the shingles. And a shout out to Betty7, who posted the link to lysine/arginine contents in food. That was a huge help.
