1Maryann
I've got a ton of deer meat in the freezer that I want to use. The steaks are not a problem, but I have a lot of ground meat as well. There's only so much sausage and meatloaf you can make, you know? Anyone have any ideas for something different and exciting I can do with it? Sharon Simpson Thumann
Make taco meat, veggie/ground deer lasagna, zoodles with marinara/deer sauce, umm braise some cabbage, fennel and carrots then toss in cooked ground deer with your choice of spices. Just a few things off the top of my head. I am jealous of your deer meat.
1Maryann
I am jealous of your deer meat. Sharon, I am blessed with a friend whose hubby is an avid hunter. They have two full-size freezers full of game, and he's going hog hunting again! She gave me about 10# of deer, on top of a few pounds she gave me a month ago, just to free up some space in her freezers. She promised me some wild pig this week, too. Until she gave me some, I hadn't had deer in ages!
Sharon Simpson Thumann
Lucky you! I wish I had friends like that. I've seen advertisements on craigslist for hog hunting, but alas we're not hunters.
