shannynh
I'm on day 8, I had kidney reflux as a child for 6 years before having surgery to fix it. My kidneys have been healthy since. Going anywhere near 100g of protein a day causes my left kidney to ache slightly. I'm drinking at least a gallon of water on rest days. It's not very painful, but the fact that there's pain at all is a sign that something isn't right. I know I should see a doctor, I definitely will if it continues or worsens; until then, any ideas? Renee Lee
Hi Shanny, Definitely see a doc. With folks that have history of kidney disease, you might need to stay on the lower side of the protein suggestions for the W30. 1 palm instead of 2, etc. If you get hungry, bump up your fat instead of protein. It could not be related to protein intake, btw...but rather oxalates...Are you eating a lot of spinach/beets/nuts/sweet potatoes right now? Doc should be able to tell you if it's oxalates or protein that's causing you the problem.
