jennycash
hi there! i picked up a bag of frozen chicken tenderloins at trader joe's yesterday. i'd love to find a quick, delicious crockpot recipe to use them in. any suggestions? i have two little ones at home who are not fans of olives or mushrooms (though i could add those things after the fact). fire away! Guest
This looks promising: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5124997 It reminds me of chicken soup which is a nice crockpot meal. I like the idea of adding baby spinach in the end (from the comments). And, I'd totally add mushrooms after serving the kids. I've been on a mushroom kick. Veggies I might add: yellow squash or zucchini, celery, carrot, onion, maybe cabbage, maybe cauliflower, maybe sweet potato. It could totally turn into a curry with some curry powder. Guest
I might go off of the same idea with chicken, fat, broth, salt, and garlic, but with green chiles to honor my home state. Many places have them in mild or hot in canned goods or frozen. I'd add chopped green chile, onion, zucchini, and squash. I still might consider mushroom, carrot, and last-minute spinach. You may have helped me plan a future meal.
