SeattleMeg
Has anyone found any gravy and/or sauce mixes that don't have some kind of sugar? I've tossed the following packets in the donation box due to the junk in their ingredients: brown gravy, turkey gravy, au jus, hollandaise, pesto, taco seasoning, fajita seasoning. I use an organic natural blend for the last two. But for normal "gravy", I do not have the time/inclination/energy to make my own. I can find gluten-free versions, but not ones that don't have some form of sugar in them. (Heck, the au jus didn't even have beef until the 7th ingredient down.... The hollandaise had FOUR types of sugar in it.) Thanks!
Karen_Suep
I have a feeling gravy is going to be one of those things you either make yourself or go without. I'm not much of a gravy eater so I can't help much more.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted August 29, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2016 The best way I've found to make gravy is either: include a bunch of veggies (carrots, cauliflower, garlic, chopped onions) under whatever meat you are roasting. When done, remove the piece of meat and blend the veggies with the pan drippings to make a gravy, add some salt to taste OR steam cauliflower and blend that into some bone broth and add seasonings, add salt and something like a mushroom powder for the umami of gravy
