    Do I start over?

Something similar happened to me, too. I went to the forum and they told me that I didn't make a faceplant into a cupcake. It wasn't that you intentionally cheated. You probably only got about a half teaspoon, anyway. They told me that if I am finding that I fight a sugar dragon at the end, to extend it a little. If not, then it didn't have much impact. Don't stress about it and assess how you feel at the end of the 30 days. Granted, I'm only on day 15, myself, right now. But, that did comfort me when it happened to me.

    Am I Getting Enough?

Do you like black olives? A can is an easy fat take-along. Or a little sunflower butter with a veggie to dip? I also pack raw veggies with homemade ranch (from homemade mayo) for dipping. A handful of nuts?
  3. I have a friend who is starting the Whole30 today, I think. I'm halfway through my first. She is nursing a 7 week old. She did ask me if the "3 meals, no snacking" applies to BF moms. I assume it doesn't. I'm assuming that if she is hungry because of lactation, she should snack (W30, healthy foods, of course). But, I haven't found a definitive answer on this. Can you help?

    Sweet Potato "Pancakes"

Thanks, guys! That was really helpful! I had to laugh! I like the amusement park idea. I really appreciate the help.

    Sweet Potato "Pancakes"

Thanks. I feel like such a stick in the mud when I tell the kids, "No, you can't have that corn dog and French fries." But, they're really trying and although they do have a few slip ups away from me, I'm very proud of them. They don't really understand the SWYPO idea. I'll be using a different analogy when I explain, though! Lol!!! I'm really grateful for this forum. I seem to be the "expert" for my friends who are just starting. But, I'm just a newbie who's learned to crawl. I appreciate all you walkers and runners helping me take my first few steps!!!

    Sweet Potato "Pancakes"

We have been really trying to stick with the template. I made homemade grassfed beef sausage patties and the sweet potato patties. I usually have 2-3 veggies on the plate in the morning. But this time, just the sweet potatoes.

There's 1/4 c almond flour for the whole batch. You can also use 2T coconut flour. They don't have the texture of pancakes. They just kinda' look like them. I can try it without it, next time and see how they hold together. They're definitely not SWYPO for me. I don't know about the kids. But, there are so many changes I'm putting them through, I look at it as a treat for them. I can call them patties to take the image of the pancake out of their minds. It's not something you'd want to put syrup on, for sure!

I forgot, there is a little almond flour -Probably for cohesiveness.

By the way, what does SWYPO stand for? I'm on day 12 of my first Whole30, so I'm still learning.

    Sweet Potato "Pancakes"

Nope. No pancake cravings. Actually, I'm past most cravings. I enjoy it, but it's more for the kids, the oldest of which is 8, with two younger. Thanks!

    Sweet Potato "Pancakes"

My kids have been real troopers about giving up their beloved carbs. I have made, in the past, sweet potato "pancakes". All it is is puréed sweet potato, spices and eggs. Then I fry it up in clarified butter. We can call them sweet potato patties. But I don't want to Paleo-ize junk food, which I know defeats the purpose of the Whole30. It's a yummy, easy and fun way for me to get the kids veggies for Meal 1. Am I breaking rules, here?

    Green Peas

Ahhhh. Crap! I'm on day 4. We had some last night. Do I have to start over????

    Green Peas

I've scoured the forum and can't find this. I know snow peas and green beans are ok, but what about plain frozen green peas? My kids love them. Are they a "legume exception" or are they out?

    Ketchup?

You guys are awesome... Thank you!!! I had just told my husband that ketchup was going to be out for the kids. He asked me to check here to see if you guys had a recipe. And VOILA!!! I really appreciate this forum!
