Letsgogreen09
I am loving a lot of the food I can eat on my whole 30. Avocados, paleo mayo, cashews, sausage, short ribs, steak-As a former calorie counter, the freedom I feel eating these high cal foods is awesome. I have realized though, that I love the fatty parts of meat, I never cut them off like most people. With pork chops, I find the fat too rubbery, but all other meats I love the fat! Should I avoid eating it or is it ok? I'm trying not to fear the fat, but maybe a little fear is healthy?
Susan W
If you buy high quality grass fed meats, rejoice in the fat. If you cannot do that, then it is best to avoid those fats and use other high quality fats.
Delaine Ross
Susan is right - there are lots of vitamins and goodness (and Omegas!) in the fat of happy animals. Factory farmed animal fats absorb the toxins, though. So if your animal was ethically raised, enjoy!
