Emiley Carey
Guys!! I just learned about freezing herbs in olive oil and boy oh boy am I excited! I bought some super cheap fresh herbs at the grocery yesterday, and knowing there is no way I'll use them up before they wilt, I took to the web. Just get an ice cube tray, stuff those compartments with as much of the herb and you please, douse in olive oil, and freeze! This will a.) make an easy oil/herb addition to a sauce or slow cooker recipe and b.) help ensure you don't waste those great fresh herbs. I did Oregano and Marjoram and plan on oil freezing basil for when my plant inevitably dies
look_alive
Another great option for a huge surplus of fresh herbs is to dry them on a paper towel in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Then crumble them and store in spice jars. Makes perfect dried oregano, parsley, basil, thyme, etc. Dry Fresh Herbs in 30 Seconds
