randi
Hello, I am on day 7 of my first whole30 and doing my absolute best to follow all the rules. I noticed there is a gram of sugar in the nuts. Is this normal? I thought we were supposed to eat nuts.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted March 1, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2014 Sugar as an ingredient in processed nuts is not okay. Sugar listed as part of the macronutrient analysis is okay. A ripe peach, for example, includes a lot of sugar naturally, but none added. Peaches are okay. Some companies may add sugar, salt, and other odd things when preparing a bag of nuts. That sugar would be a problem. By the way, you are not supposed to eat nuts. You CAN eat nuts, but many people have problems with them. They eat too many which can cause digestion problems and fat gain because nuts are high in calories. A little is good, a lot is a problem. We recommend to anyone who has problems to avoid nuts during a Whole30.
