namtrag
I just read an article that said eggs contain peptides which act as ACE inhibitors. My blood pressure medicine, Lisinopril, is an ACE inhibitor. So if you have high bp, eat a lot of eggs! I am eating a ton of them since starting...I am on Day 18. My blood pressure has dropped, and I wonder how much is due to the eggs?! lol
Moderators Tom Denham Posted March 12, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 12, 2014 Be careful how seriously you take articles that promote a food for one benefit or another. Most such articles are exaggerated and do not offer meaningful information.
namtrag
Oh, for sure, Tom. I don't trust most of what I read, but I did find this interesting. https://www.acs.org/content/acs/en/pressroom/newsreleases/2013/april/new-evidence-that-egg-white-protein-may-help-high-blood-pressur.html Just throwing it out there. I check my bp every day, and my diastolic is down 10 points in a little over two weeks. Medicine has been a constant, so it has to be the eggs, right? j/k. This dietary change is working pretty quickly (no more heartburn and lower bp), and I am so happy about that. Whether it's the eggs, the lower inflammation, or whatever, I am just amazed at how forgiving our bodies can be.
