Evening race - what and when to eat pre-race

I have a small race (3K) Monday evening at 6:30.  I normally run/work out in the mornings, and have pre-WO and post-WO meals then.  What and when would you suggest I have Monday afternoon for pre-race?  Normal lunch, then a pre-WO meal in the afternoon?  How long before the race?  Thanks
