Courtnay Ozanne
Day 7. 10 adults. 9 children. 1 house. Vacation with the in-laws is like the Combat Challenge. Every SAD stereotype fits here...low fat, high fiber, whole grain, kids food, smoothies, LSD training...if I make it through this, I'll make it through anything!!! Carie Skeahan
I just had a similar situation on a family reunion trip to Ohio. To make it more interesting, it wasn't my family…it was my BF's family that I was meeting for the first time. Ha!! Breakfast was a challenge because I do not eat eggs so I had the meat, avocado and fruit. Lunch was easiest because I simply ate the sandwich w/o the bread…lettuce sandwich. Dinner was nearly impossible I pretty much used broccoli or whichever veggie was available to replace the pasta, tortillas, etc. It is very difficult, but you can do it. Be creative, be gentle with yourself…stressing over it won't help. You got this.
Laura Jeanne Penrod
I went through this this weekend with 45 students on a retreat in Zion. Every SAD drink and food known to man. Just made sure to bring lots of veggies, fruits, and meats. I survived the chocolate chip cookies, s'mores, kit Kate, pop tarts, lasagna, potato casseroles, sodas, etc. you got this! It's so worth it to not feel like crap at the end of a few days gone.
