smithur
Last night (Day 5), I went to SaladWorks and got a Cobb Salad. It contained lettuce, carrots (subbed for blue cheese), avocado, grilled chicken (subbed for crispy chicken), tomatoes, hardboiled eggs, and bacon. I didn't realize that I couldn't eat regular bacon on Whole30 and I am honestly not a regular bacon eater - I maybe have it 2-3 times per year. Do I need to start my Whole30 over, since I doubt Saladworks sources organic, sugar-free, bacon?
snoodess
The sugar in the bacon isn't so much of an issue but the ingredients in the chicken is. Multiple non-compliant ingredients. You'll probably want to tack 5 days onto the end of your program for best results. Good luck. Eating out during a whole30 is really difficult. I feel for you. smithur
Hi Snoodess, yeah, that's what I decided to do - tack on an extra 5 days. Thanks for the link - that list of ingredients is gross!!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted November 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 13, 2014 The chicken at lots of places is highly processed with injections of just the kind of ingredients noted at the link above. When you go in a restaurant, it may look like chicken, but many times it ain't just chicken. Much of the chicken sold in grocery stores is injected with stuff too, but at least you get an ingredient label in the store and can see what is present. smithur
Hi Tom, yeah...I'm typically an all organic grocery shopper and have been for years...sometimes I just don't want to cook, even if it's just a salad. :-) I guess I'll have to for the next 30 days!
