DColby
Hi has anyone made a beef stew with tapioca flour as a thickener? I was thinking of lightly coating the stew meat in the tapioca flour and then pan searing before putting it in the crockpot. Looking for a cozy meal on this snowy day here. Thanks for any input. Moderators LadyM Posted February 2, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 2, 2015 I haven't used tapioca flour, though I'm happy with beef stew made without thickeners. I have successfully used arrowroot as a thickener in other recipes, though. Another thing I've done to thicken soups is puree cooked cauliflower and/or any number of root veggies with some of the broth. Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your compliant winter comfort food! It's a snow day here, too.
