Rfisher261
Anyone have ideas for what I could use as a substitute for white wine in a recipe? I have a recipe for mussels and the only non-compliant ingredient is white wine. I suppose I could just use extra chicken stock, but was hoping for something that could add another dimension of flavor.

SpinSpin
Do you have fish or shrimp stock handy?
Rfisher261
Possibly white wine vinegar, unfortunately don't have fish stock, because that would probably be great.
MTNan
I would use a combination of chicken stock and a vinegar of your choosing. Maybe 3:1 or 4:1 ratio.
J9er
Apple juice is a good substitute. If it were me I would do half chicken stock half apple or white grape juice.
