Alisonlcarver
You know..the 4 oz. fruit cups that come in 4-packs in the canned food aisles? I am currently looking at a label for the Pink Grapefruit Sunrise kind. It's ingredients include red grapefruit, clarified pineapple juice from concentrate (water, clarified pineapple juice concentrate), white grape juice from concentrate (water, white grape juice concentrate), lemon juice from one concentrate (water, lemon juice concentrate), natural flavors, ascorbic acid (to promote color retention), calcium chloride (to protect texture), and citric acid. My concerns include the ascorbic acid, calcium chloride, and citric acid. Is this ok?
GFChris
My concerns include the ascorbic acid, calcium chloride, and citric acid. Is this ok? All those ingredients are listed as acceptable on the Whole30 additives cheat sheet. That being said, fresh fruit is a better choice: no additives. Alisonlcarver
Oh yes, thank you so much! I have seen the additives sheet before but must have forgotten about it. I'll print a copy and keep it handy. Fresh fruit is so great, especially citrus, apples, and pears at this time of the year!
