Gaeliceyes
I went to a wedding tonight and I think I stayed compliant but would like others opinions. They had standard catered party fare of fried chicken and mostaccioli. I had salad with salt and pepper, no dressing. And I had chicken BUT I stripped the fried parts off and only ate the meat. What do you guys think?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted September 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 25, 2016 Even if you stripped the breading off, you don't know what the chicken was marinated in unless you asked, so you don't really know if it was compliant, even if taking all the breading off got rid of all the grain product on it. Here's the article that talks about whether you need to start over or not.
Robin R.
I would suggest contacting the person/caterer who prepared the food if the chicken was marinated, etc. When I was preparing for my first outing during the W30, I was able to contact the Wedding Event Planner ahead of time and give her a list of what I could not have. She was wonderful about it and made sure I knew exactly what I could have, and was able to have a few of the things prepared without butter, etc. so that I could have them. I was also able to bring my own dressing and appetizers. You really are not gong to know unless you are able to talk directly to the person who prepared the chicken. Good Luck!
