TNfarmgirl
I realize that snacks are generally avoided, but since I'm breastfeeding, I need something mid-afternoon. Would a bulletproof coffee (probably decaf) made with collagen, clarified butter and coconut oil be ok? Or should I try to make it more like a meal? Karen_Suep
I'd make it more like a meal and use bp coffee as a side. Remember breastfeeding moms are encouraged to eat 4 template meals (or 3 full meals and 2 mini meals/snacks)
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted November 18, 2016 Moderators Share Posted November 18, 2016 We do encourage breastfeeding mothers to increase their fat intake, so much so that sipping pure coconut milk throughout the day is a recommendation. This is definitely up there with that fat increase... go to it As Karen said, you're encouraged to eat more than the 3 meals a day as you're keeping yourself and another person alive with your body, so four meals, increased fat and snacking (mini meals, not fruit and nuts) are encouraged. MeganKV
You should look into Dandelion Tea. When steeped for the recommended time it takes much like coffee and is delicious with a dash of cinnamon and coconut milk. I have even done it with adding some coconut oil.
