PhilR
I bought a bag of mixed nuts after reading the ingredients which said "cashews, almonds, pistachios, sea salt." Once I got it home, I also noticed, right under that, and in smaller letters, is a section that says "may also contain peanuts, brazil nuts, pecans, pine nuts, walnuts, milk, soy, wheat." I'm sure this is a disclaimer because other products are likely made in the same plant that contain these ingredients, but how much should this restrict me from these kinds of foods? These disclaimers are on all kinds of things. BTW, this bag also says "Includes 0g Added Sugars." Thanks for any help!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted April 13, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 13, 2018 "May Contain" is an allergen statement and not part of the ingredients list which is what we care about.

CaseyD
Yes, it does mean that the product was made in a facility or even shared equipment with the allergens listed. This is really for those who have severe allergies or Celiacs and cannot risk being in any contact with the food they are allergic too.
