Wally_01
Hi, I am new to whole 30 and love hot food. I was looking up whole30 hot wings and there is a recipe using Franks Hot Sauce, I have also found a chart saying it is compliant. Yay. my question is that ingredients say 'contains wheat', which I know is banned. can someone confirm if they use it/if it is compliant thanks Catherine
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted August 29, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2018 If it contains wheat, it isn't compliant. If it says "manufactured in a facility that also uses wheat," that is a warning for people with severe allergies that there may be cross-contamination, but for whole30 purposes it would be fine. It may be that some varieties of Frank's are fine and others aren't, so you might check some different types. Or substitute another brand, like Tabasco or Cholula which both have some compliant options.
starsekker
I am allergic to gluten and we eat Franks Hot sauce by the gallon. If you stick with the original you should be fine. I stay away from any variations they have.
