I am joining Whole30 in part because of a Dr. wanting me to follow a low fodmap diet, and handed me papers expecting me to understand it right away.  I discovered Whole30 from a customer who went through the program successfully and highly recommended it I have concerns on the different restrictions between whole30 and the low fodmap diet. I am reading the book and hope to finish before October 1st.  I am looking forward to eating healthier.

You're definitely going to want to make some modifications to Whole30 to accommodate the low-FODMAP diet.

This article has a pretty good explanation of FODMAPS, and there's a chart about halfway down that is a nice visual of what is fine to eat, what to avoid completely, and what you can have occasionally:  https://www.thepaleomom.com/modifying-paleo-for-fodmap-intolerance/. Note that there are some foods where there is disagreement about whether they are okay or not, so there may be some differences between this and what your doctor gave you.
