SaraJaneBrook
I have very high cholesterol which I am working on with my PA. What do you all say about the high amount of red meat included in this diet? Can I sub out? Or does the overall structure of the diet (with so many low-value food restrictions ) diminish chances of increased cholesterol?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted March 3, 2022 Moderators Share Posted March 3, 2022 You can certainly opt to have more fish or chicken instead of beef or pork. You can limit or completely leave out things like bacon or sausage. However, for many people dietary cholesterol (cholesterol in what you eat) doesn't affect blood cholesterol levels as much as previously thought. Here's a bit of a summary: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/what-should-you-eat/fats-and-cholesterol/cholesterol/ and I'm sure you can find more information online.
