Rowing Chick
I'm on Day 21 - or I think I am. I've been battling a head cold (stuffy nose, sore throat, cough) and have been using cough drops and NyQuil. I know, sugar-laden remedies. I haven't been in a position to research Whole30 approved options. Do I start over?
Robin Strathdee
Rowing chick - That honestly depends. If it were me, I'd add some time on to the end (maybe not 21 days). I'd feel cheated out of the awesome that the cold (and said remedies) robbed me of. The amount of sugar you're consuming may or may not be enough to derail your results. However, we often say that necessary medications get a pass. Cough drops are not often necessary, but I could understand NyQuil as such if there are no other options available. Rowing Chick
Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on taking the Whole30 forward past the 30 days. I'm an ex-ballerina with lots of food baggage to purge. One month is not going to banish them and I know it. I'm already seeing old habits knocking on the door. However, I'm a single mom to three. Being sick isn't an option hence the use of over-the-counter remedies. I just needed to know if I should be viewing myself as starting on Day 1 again, or if I can keep the mindset of almost-there.
