adding back peppers

I'm over 3 weeks in to my Whole30 and decided to add back peppers today. I had cut nightshades pretty much just to see if they affected me, not because I suspected I had a problem with them. I just ate a 1/4 of a raw orange bell pepper and it immediately gave me a stomach ache! I was not expecting that.

Is it common for your stomach to react that way after not having something for a certain period of time? Does it mean I'm allergic to/intolerant to peppers? I sure hope not because it was seriously delicious. Could it just be that I ate it raw?

I know the only way to know is to eat some more and see if the same thing happens, I'm just curious what others' experiences are.
