CarolinaJ85
I suppose as long as the cider does not have sugar in it (someone correct me if I am wrong?). I haven't had apple butter since last fall, but I enjoy making it in my crock pot when it is apple season. I use a blend of different apples chopped, a few apples put through my juicer, some water, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. It's so good and is easy to make. I don't follow a recipe but I am sure there are plenty online.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted March 15, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 15, 2013 Apple butter would be a big dose of sugar, but technically with those ingredients would be compliant. However, I recommend you eat a whole apple instead. You would get less sugar in a whole apple than in a few tablespoons of apple butter.
