I was craving salty sweet bitter yumminess when I saw this thick cut bacon at whole foods and got inspired. Enjoy! http://eatingforidio...bacon-mushrooms Ingredients quarter head of cabbage thinly sliced splash of balsamic couple pinches salt, pepper, garlic 1/4-1/2 cup chicken broth 1 leek, whites thinly sliced 2 slices thick cut bacon chopped 4 oz shiitake mushrooms How To Cook bacon in a tsp of ghee in cast iron skillet over medium low heat remove bacon when starting to crisp to paper towel lined plate add a little more ghee, and add leaks with a sprinkle of salt and pepper and a couple pinches of garlic sauté leeks with a splash of chicken broth and a splash of balsamic vinegar, covered for 5 minutes or until softened add cabbage and more liquid if it's drying, you don't want it to scorch or burn, cover and cook 5 minutes checking occasionally add mushrooms, cover and cook 5 minutes add bacon back in, serve warm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
